International Internship Duration
Depending on each participant and host organization’s needs, the duration of an internship program can last between three to six months. Our programs run based on local visa regulations. As a result, the internship program duration may depend upon country-specific visa requirements. Please note that participants will not apply for a local visa for virtual internship options. If you have any questions about participating in a shorter or longer internship experience, please reach out to our team at

Academic Component
All prospective applicants should speak with their academic advisor to inquire if our program offerings meet their desired academic requirements. Our internship programs offer support to participants who are studying at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Global U Internships team will provide any additional assistance needed to obtain documentation a university may need to meet a participant’s academic requirements. However, Global U Internships is not liable to ensure that a participant’s internship program is approved by their university.

Step 4. Internship Placement
The Global U Internships team will match you with an internship placement based on your tailored needs no later than 2 weeks (for virtual internships) and 6 weeks (for in-country) before your desired internship start date.
For this stage to begin, you must pay a deposit of USD $ 400 (virtual internship) or USD $ 800 (for in-country) within 5 business days after the end of the preparation process.
If our team is unable to meet this deadline, we commit to fully refund the deposits of the placement fee.
Note: You may only change your internship start date before we have confirmed and arranged a host company interview. Any other changes will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Step 5. Host Company Interview
Once you confirm your program acceptance, our team will arrange an interview with the host company to fulfill their recruitment process. We will forward your CV (in English), admissions interview, and English language test result to the company for review. Please note that the host organization interview will be held via a video-conferencing application, such as Skype.
Step 6. Internship Offer
After the host company interview, you will receive a response from our team within 10-20 days. If you are selected by your host company, you must pay the remaining balance of the placement fee within 3-5 business days (for virtual and in-country internships) confirming your internship offer. Please note that if you are not selected during your first round, our team will continue to work on finding you an international internship that meets your needs.
If you are completing your internship at one of our in-country destinations, you will be required to purchase travel insurance with coverage in your host country that insures you for your entire internship duration. You must submit this documentation to our team no later than one month after confirming your internship offer. Failure to provide documentation may result in program removal.
Step 9. Mid and End of Internship Evaluation
Our team will conduct a mid-way and end of internship evaluation with both you and your host company. You will be required to submit a Host Company Evaluation Form at both stages to assess your experience and offer areas of improvement. In addition, your host company supervisor will submit an Intern Evaluation Form at both stages to assess your work performance and describe your work responsibilities.
